Last month New Britain EMS was honored with receiving Gold Level recognition from the American Heart Association's Mission Lifeline Program. Agencies that receive this have achieved 75% or higher performance on each applicable Mission Lifeline EMS Achievement Measures for 24 consecutive months to improve quality of care for STEMI patients. New Britain EMS Academy falls under the Professional and Standards and Training Division of New Britain EMS. Part of this division's mission includes staff development and internal training and quality improvement. We are honored to support our crews and their development and education as part of achieving this goal.

September is National Preparedness Month!

Would you be ready of there was an emergency in the state of Connecticut? This month, join thousands of other Americans in developing a family plan to ensure your level of preparedness. “ In 2004, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officially named September “National Preparedness Month”, in hopes of empowering civilians with the knowledge and awareness to minimize the threat of emergencies and disasters.”(FEMA)

Here in the greater Hartford area, the Capitol Region Emergency Planning Council (CREPC) have implemented citizen preparedness campaign and resources known as “Get Ready Capitol Region”. We encourage all residents of the Capitol Region here in Connecticut to visit www.getreadycapitolregion.org to learn more about personal preparedness and to download some of the many resources to help individuals become more prepared.
