Congratulations to the NBEMSA Training Center and Outreach Coordinator Kristen Farrell for her recent induction into the New Britain Lions Club. One of Kristen's many duties is to coordinate community outreach initiatives as NBEMSA is also the community outreach branch for NBEMS. We maintain active participation in our community's civic organizations to provide support and service where it is needed for those we serve. Congrats Kristen!

Last month New Britain EMS was honored with receiving Gold Level recognition from the American Heart Association's Mission Lifeline Program. Agencies that receive this have achieved 75% or higher performance on each applicable Mission Lifeline EMS Achievement Measures for 24 consecutive months to improve quality of care for STEMI patients. New Britain EMS Academy falls under the Professional and Standards and Training Division of New Britain EMS. Part of this division's mission includes staff development and internal training and quality improvement. We are honored to support our crews and their development and education as part of achieving this goal.

New Britain EMS Academy and the New Britain Lions Club Partner on File of Life Program

on Tuesday, 23 September 2014. Posted in Community First

The New Britain Lions Club has recently made another generous donation to our organization to ensure that the popular File of Life Program (www.folife.org) remains active in the New Britain community. The File of Life program is meant to provide quick and easy access to your basic medical information. It is a red plastic folder (with magnetic option) that can be kept on the refrigerator or in your wallet for speedy access in the event of an emergency. The file contains important personal information regarding your health and emergency contacts in the event that you are unable to give the information.

How do I get a File of Life?

The File of Life Program at New Britain EMS is available to the residents of New Britain at no cost. To request a File of Life please contact the EMS Academy at 860-351-0180 x 302 or send an email request containing your mailing address to This email address is being protected from spambots.
